| O*NET Usage: |
Has customers explore occupations in O*NET. Shows them how to use
O*NET to develop their resumés, using O*NET language to describe
their own skills, abilities, and activities. Helps individuals gauge
skills, explore occupations, and identify skill development needs.
Mary also has been training other case managers throughout her region
how to use O*NET in working with their clients.
Loaded the computerized O*NET Career Exploration Tools (Interest Profiler
and Work Importance Profiler) on all the resource center computers.
|
| Time when O*NET was particularly
helpful for a client: |
Recently worked with a woman who completed both career exploration
tools on her own, printed out her results, and happily left to continue
at home. All after only a minute of direction from Mary! The woman
was thrilled that she could print it all out and explore the suggested
occupations on O*NET OnLine at home, at her leisure. |
| Speaking on the
Value of O*NET: |
"Workshop participants are enthusiastic about O*NET. They say
that the whole system is, “the coolest thing,” and “so
neat !” |
